3ºESO (1st Term / Grammar: future predictions)
The teacher displays the picture Little Ballerina by Greg Olsen on the board and elicits information from the students by asking questions such as:
‘what can you see?’,
‘how many people can you see?’,
‘how old do you think she is?’,
‘where is she?’,
‘what is she wearing?’,
‘what hobbies do you think she has?
With all data collected and with the painting in front of them, they need to make future predictions about the girl using ‘will’/’won’t’.
For instance, ‘the girl will be a professional dancer’ or ‘the girl won’t practice ballet; she will play baseball in the New York Yankees’.
They write their predictions in “Miro”, which is an interactive whiteboard.
Students are divided into teams of four. Each group needs to choose one prediction from ‘Miro’ and create a 3D story with 'TOONTASTIC' for the girl in the picture.
It is a wonderful App that creates animation video clips, turning ideas into 3D cartoons. Students can choose the type of story they want to tell and then select characters and backgrounds. They can then record the voice for the characters and move them around to make the scenes into cartoon animations.
Once the scenes are complete, they can save it as a video clip.
Once the videos are finished, they are played in class and students can vote for their favourite one.
