DESCRIPTION OF A PAINTING.

This exercise consists on preparing an oral presentation of a painting proposed by the teacher, which will be presented orally and in common. The proposed painting is “The chess game” by Sofonisba Anguissola”.
 
To do this exercise, students will practice structures such as:

This pictures shows.../ In this picture I can see....
There are....
Look/seem + adjective

Basic prepositions of place: 

on / in / under/next to / behind / in front of / opposite/over / above / below

Descriptive adjectives: 

colourful, bright, saturated, dull, contrasting, tall, short, elegant, tin y, wooden, golden, etc…

Parts of a picture: 

on the left, on the right, in the middle, at the bottom, at the top, in the top left corner, etc....

Verb tenses: to describe a picture in a basic way you need only two verb tenses the Present Simple and the Present Continuous.

I think/believe, to express your personal opinion about the painting.
